报告摘要:

Non-perturbative results are powerful in many-body systems where various interactions are strong and complicated. Lieb-Schultz-Mattis (LSM) theorem is one of the most notable concept that constrains the low-energy physics only through a few microscopic data related to symmetry. In this talk, we will review the original statement of such a theorem and provide several distinct viewpoints. The flux-insertion method and the twisted boundary method will be reviewed, respectively, to attack the continuous and discrete symmetries. Later, we will present a new way to view the statement from symmetry-protected topological (SPT) phases. It should be noted that we will use the SPT in the same spatial dimension rather than a bulk-boundary correspondence. A stronger statement than the LSM theorem will be arrived thereby LSM theorem being simply a lemma.

个人简介:

姚元博士在上海交通大学获得学士学位(2015),在日本东京大学获得博士学位(2020)。从2020年到2021年,姚博士在日本固体物理研究所从事博士后研究工作,从2021年到2023年在日本理化研究所(RIKEN)担任博士后研究员。自2023年起,姚博士以tenure-track副教授的身份加入上海交通大学.他当前的研究兴趣是多体系统的非微扰方法和拓扑结构。
