报告摘要:

The Unruh effect, a celebrated phenomenon in quantum field theory in curved spacetime, is often regarded as a counterpart to Hawking radiation from black holes. It carries profound theoretical significance due to its deep connections with the yet-to-be-established quantum theory of gravity. However, experimental verification has remained elusive, primarily due to the widely held belief that extremely large accelerations are required for its observation.In this talk, we review our recent work, providing new perspectives on the Unruh effect for circularly accelerated detectors. Our findings challenge the conventional notion that a significant Unruh effect necessitates large acceleration, demonstrating that the effect can be pronounced even at small accelerations. Moreover, we reveal that the steady-state entanglement of two circularly accelerated detectors at small accelerations, a phenomenon surprisingly absent at large accelerations, serves as a compelling manifestation of the Unruh effect. Finally, we propose that these phenomena could be experimentally verified using advanced optomechanical technologies, paving the way for a promising route to validate this remarkable quantum effect.

余洪伟,美国Tufts大学博士,湖南师范大学教授,博士生导师;教育部“长江学者与创新团队计划”“量子效应及其应用”创新团队带头人,两届教育部物理专业教学指导委员会委员;长期致力于相对论与引力、量子场论,量子理论基本问题以及宇宙学等方面的研究;先后主持国家自然科学基金重大(课题)、重点、面上等一系列国家级科研项目的研究;2008年获得湖南省科技进步一等奖(排名第一),2018年获湖南省自然科学一等奖(排名第一);指导学生先后获得全国百篇优秀博士学位论文一次,提名论文一次以及湖南省优秀博士学位论文六次。
