报告摘要:

Phase transitions such as crystallization and vitrification under strong geometric constraint usually suffer both a shape effect and a constraint effect from the boundaries, which reduce the dimension of the system and modify thermodynamics and kinetics of the system. We will introduce our recent studies combining experiments and simulations in colloidal model systems: Crystallization under spherical, cylindrical and planar constraint. We will discuss some interesting phenomena, such as the phase reentrance under planar constraint, the chiral selection under cylindrical constraint, and the complex morphology selection under spherical constraint. At last, I will discuss some key factors, such as the magic layering number and the range of the interaction in the system.
