报告摘要:

Classical Thermodynamics provides us with a general theoretical framework that describes the relationships between various equilibrium macroscopic properties for bulk materials, such as energy E, entropy S, temperature T, pressure P. This framework exists independent of the specific chemicalcomposition of the material. Our recent work introduced a new perspective to describe thermodynamic behavior as an emergent phenomenon resulting from the large deviation principle (LDP). We introduced a {\it repeated-measurement limit} and obtained a generalized nano-thermodynamic theory for stochastic description of mesoscopic systems without the traditional, bulk, thermodynamic limit.  In this talk, the speaker will briefly review the large deviation principle, thermodynamics, and statistical mechanics. Then the speaker will demonstrate the generalized nano-thermodynamics theory obtained from {\it repeated-measurement limit} and the large deviation principle. This genralized nano-thermodynamics theory is closely related to that developed by T. Hill. [ZL and Hong Qian, arXiv:2009.12644, 2020].

卢至悦,2019至今任教于北卡罗来纳大学教堂山分校化学系。研究兴趣包括小体系热力学,非平衡以及随机热力学,以及化学/生物体系中的有趣的非平衡过程(例如Mpemba Effect,分子机器,反常基因调控)。2016年博士毕业于马里兰大学(化学物理)师从Chris Jarzynski。2016-2019于芝加哥大学James Franck Institute 做博士后研究(Aaron Dinner研究组)。
