课程简介：In this course, we'll explore the convergence of astrophysics and fundamental physics through the lens of gravitational waves. Our focus will center on spaceborne observatories and the realm of Extreme-Mass Ratio Inspirals (EMRIs). We'll carefully examine the foundational principles of General Relativity and some of the connections to a mathematical framework that will be opened thanks to data. Our investigation will encompass the origins of gravitational wave sources and the significance of observatories like LISA. We'll also consider astrophysical insights, cosmological implications, and current research trends, offering a comprehensive understanding of this evolving field. Instead of following a book, what we'll do is to develop a physical intuition.
